Our Research
We are focusing on diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. We are building brain-machine interfaces forming closed-loop neuromodulators, to recover or enhance human body functions, integrating artificial intelligence methods to record neural activities, decode and detect biomarkers, as well as to predict medical health conditions. Also, we are culturing cells and introducing various biosensors for neurotransmitters manipulation methods and characterization, and viruses detection.

Neural Signals and Images
The brain activities reflect our cognitive, physiological, and psychological conditions. We explore the applications of multimodal functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS), electroencephalogram (EEG) and photoacoustic imaging (PAI) for real-time brain activity monitoring, and expand its application in the diagnosis and prediction of neuro-degenerative diseases.

Brain-machine Interface and Neuromorphic Chip
Brain-computer interface (BCI) establishes a direct communication and control channel between the brain and the external world. BCI technology greatly enhances human un-derstanding of how the brain works and how to treat brain diseases. It has become the scientific and technological strategic focus or core technology development area of many countries.

Biosensors and Biointerfaces
We focus on providing a wide range of solutions for the prevention and control of infectious diseases, early prediction of neurodegenerative diseases, assessment of vaccine efficacy, high-throughput drug screening, and individualized patient dosing. We do this by designing nano-optical and electrochemical biosensors, and neuromorphic and organoid chips for wearable and implantable medical devices.
