DR. IGOR CHESTNOV
Biography
Igor Chestnov, born in 1988, received a PhD in Prokhorov General Physics Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 2014. His PhD thesis titled "Critical phenomena with coupled atom-optical states in the presence of optical collisions" was devoted to the optical properties and phase transitions with strongly correlated atom-light states in an ultra-dense hot gas. He has previously worked as a senior researcher at Vladimir State University (Russia) on microcavity polaritons localized in superlattices. His current research activities are in the semiconductor physics, photonics, quantum optics, laser physics and nonlinear dynamics. In total, he had published 20 papers in peer-review journals and delivered more than 20 scientific presentations at international conferences. He participated in 12 research projects as an investigator and headed 3 national Russian research projects as a principal investigator. He had visited universities of Bonn and Jena (Germany), ITMO University (Russia), University of Southampton (UK) as a visitor researcher. He has been awarded by research fellowships of the President and Government of Russian Federation in 2017-2018.
